{"id":1591,"date":"2014-12-04T17:43:34","date_gmt":"2014-12-04T17:43:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.soton.ac.uk\/evoice\/?p=1591"},"modified":"2014-12-08T15:33:06","modified_gmt":"2014-12-08T15:33:06","slug":"updates-malaysia-campus","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.soton.ac.uk\/evoice\/updates-malaysia-campus\/","title":{"rendered":"Updates from our Malaysia Campus"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>University secures\u00a0Malaysia Qualifications Agency approval to deliver Aeronautics and Astronautics degree in Malaysia<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The University has been awarded full approval by the Malaysia Qualifications Agency (MQA) to deliver its world-leading Master of Engineering (MEng) in Aeronautics and Astronautics programme in Malaysia.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The programme, dedicated to the science and engineering of aircraft, spacecraft and other aerodynamic systems, begins in September 2015 at the University\u2019s Malaysia Campus in southern Johor.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The approval follows successful accreditation of Southampton\u2019s MEng programmes in Mechanical Engineering and Electrical and Electronic Engineering over the past three years. Both of these programmes are running successfully in Malaysia with the first group of students in Mechanical Engineering making the transition from Malaysia to Southampton in the UK this autumn to start their third year of study as part of our Integrated International Engineering Education (IIEE) programme.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">For more information about the University&#8217;s Malaysia Campus and its undergraduate MEng programmes in Aeronautics and Astronautics, Electrical and Electronic Engineering and Mechanical Engineering, please visit our <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.southampton.ac.uk\/my\" target=\"_blank\">Malaysia webpages<\/a><\/strong>.<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.soton.ac.uk\/evoice\/files\/2014\/12\/scholarships.fw_.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1593\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.soton.ac.uk\/evoice\/files\/2014\/12\/scholarships.fw_.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"364\" height=\"267\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.soton.ac.uk\/evoice\/files\/2014\/12\/scholarships.fw_.png 364w, https:\/\/blog.soton.ac.uk\/evoice\/files\/2014\/12\/scholarships.fw_-300x220.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 364px) 100vw, 364px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>Mechanical Engineering students awarded Lloyd\u2019s Register Foundation scholarships<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">A trio of top performing students in Mechanical Engineering from the University have received scholarships for the second year in succession thanks to the generosity of the Lloyd\u2019s Register Foundation (LRF).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The students \u2013 Jeremy Fong, Yap Jun Hou and Tai Je See \u2013 received recognition during a civic reception hosted by the University at the new Boldrewood Innovation Campus, where Lloyd\u2019s Register has recently established its Global Technology Centre.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Vice-Chancellor, Professor Don Nutbeam, and Lloyd\u2019s Register Marine Director, Tom Boardley made the presentations, praising the students for their efforts in maintaining the high standards established during their first year of study.
