The normal requirement for entry to the MScART programme is:
◦ a good first degree (upper second class) of an approved university in a health or health related, or engineering field,
◦ or equivalent qualification (relevant professional qualification at a suitable level or relevant post-qualifying professional experience).
The course is taught in English. An IELTS score of 6.5 overall with at least 6.0 in each competency or equivalent is required. For information on this and other accepted English language tests, please visit www.southampton.ac.uk/admissions_language.Those for whom English is not their first language are asked to indicate what level of English they have attained.
As part of the application process, candidates are asked to write a personal statement to explain their motivation for wishing to take the course and to indicate their future career plans.
Scholarships
Students who have been accepted by the MScART consortium can apply for an Erasmus Mundus Master Course scholarship within one of the following categories, provided they fulfil the eligibility criteria.
◦ Category A scholarships can be awarded to third-country masters students who come from a country other than a European country and who are not residents nor have carried out their main activity (studies, training or work) for more than a total of 12 months over the last five years in these countries.
◦ Category B scholarships can be awarded to European masters students as well as to any masters students selected by MScART consortium who do not fulfil the Category A criteria defined above.
Students with a double nationality must select the Category of their choice. As a result, they are entitled to apply only to one of the two categories of scholarship at a time.
Eligibility criteria
◦ Individuals who have already benefited from an EMMC scholarship are not eligible for a second scholarship to follow the same or another EMMC.
◦ Students benefiting from an EMMC scholarship cannot benefit from another EU grant while pursuing their Erasmus masters studies.
◦ EMMC students scholarships are awarded exclusively for a full-time enrollment in one of the course editions.
