{"id":116,"date":"2009-11-16T10:23:36","date_gmt":"2009-11-16T10:23:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.soton.ac.uk\/dotac\/?p=116"},"modified":"2009-11-30T13:05:54","modified_gmt":"2009-11-30T13:05:54","slug":"dotac-training-day-22nd-january-2010","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.soton.ac.uk\/dotac\/2009\/11\/16\/dotac-training-day-22nd-january-2010\/","title":{"rendered":"dotAC Training Day: 22nd January 2010"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>One of our goals on dotAC is to reach out to our target communities, specifically to the managers of institutional repositories; we believe that, for linked data-based research information to be a reality, we need to engage with the people who are most likely to be providing that data (see <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.soton.ac.uk\/dotac\/2009\/10\/15\/on-users\/\">our post on users<\/a> for more background on this).<\/p>\n<p>We had originally planned a pair of events: an item at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.repositoryfringe.org\/\">Repository Fringe<\/a> in Edinburgh at the end of July, and a dotAC-themed extension to an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.eprints.org\/services\/training\/\">EPrints Training Day<\/a> here in Southampton at the beginning of September. The first of these went ahead as planned, with Hugh giving a presentation on the Thursday, but we had to cancel the second due to a clash with the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ukoln.ac.uk\/events\/jiscri-2009\/\">JISCRI workshop<\/a> in Manchester.<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;ve now scheduled a replacement event for the 22nd January 2010 (immediately following the EPrints training on the 20th-21st January 2010).
