The research was focused in the creation of 3D model of complex stratigraphy through GRASS. .<\/p>\n<p>In 2009, I started an MSc in Computing Archaeology (Virtual Past) at the University of Southampton. My dissertation was focused on Late-Holocene Landscape virtual reconstruction of Sebkhet el Menzel, Tunisia.<\/p>\n<p>My PhD research is focussed on digital landscape simulation and on the representation of the interpretation and uncertainties of archaeological data to a general public.<\/p>\n<p>I tweet at <a title=\"@eleonorag1\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/eleonorag1\" target=\"_blank\">@eleonorag1<\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Nicole Beale<\/h3>\n<div style=\"width: 178px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"   \" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/d13pix9kaak6wt.cloudfront.net\/avatar\/users\/n\/i\/c\/nicolebeale_1360778214_47.jpg\" width=\"168\" height=\"168\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Nicole Beale<\/p><\/div>\n<p>I am studying a PhD in improving access to cultural heritage using the Web. I am based at the University of Southampton\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/webscience.org\/home.html\">Web Science Doctoral Training Centre<\/a>\u00a0and the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.soton.ac.uk\/archaeology\/acrg\/acrg_people.html\">Archaeological Computing Research Group<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>I am interested in\u00a0<a title=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/blog.okfn.org\/category\/working-groups\/wg-archaeology\/\">open data<\/a>, particularly how this can be used by museums and for\u00a0<a title=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/www.tandfonline.com\/doi\/abs\/10.1080\/00438243.2012.743252\">public archaeology projects<\/a>. I teach workshops on\u00a0<a title=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/www.slideshare.net\/nicoleebeale\/social-media-for-researchers-workshop-4th-july-2012-university-of-southampton\">social media<\/a>\u00a0and also open data use for researchers. I am currently a\u00a0<a title=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/www.essex.ac.uk\/ldev\/events\/Going_Digital_Profiles.aspx\">CHASE Going Digital Scholar<\/a>. I deliver a Lifelong Learning module on\u00a0<a title=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/urbarch.wordpress.com\/\">Urban Archaeology<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>I have worked in the past for local government museums, as an Assistant Curator and also in education, in digital media, and in outreach. I now work as a consultant for local authorities. I also have a\u00a0<a title=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/uk.linkedin.com\/in\/nicolebeale\">background<\/a>\u00a0in eLearning for Higher Education institutions. I have a degree in History of Art, a Masters in Archaeological Computing and a Masters in Web Science. I teach and\u00a0<a title=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/soton.academia.edu\/nicolebeale\">publish<\/a>\u00a0on all of the above topics whenever possible.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This summer I have been co-directing a University of Southampton training dig. The excavation had a significant community archaeology component.
