The food is tasty and fitting for a welcome back celebration.

Tuesday 10:00

I meet up with some students in my office who are moving between modules and programmes. Two more Ideas Cafes to go this week.

Thursday 13:00

First lecture of the year for MANG1018. We are in the main maths lecture theatre with 200 faces looking at me. Many are now familiar after induction and the conference but it is a large room. I hear one student on the front row saying “I am really looking forward to this module”, an inviting cue to begin. I ask students to think about the items of technology they have already used that morning and I think I hear one shout “fire alarm”.
