The coursework? Nightlife? Perhaps the job opportunities it generates. Many people view their university years as a self-development period. However, not just academically. Taking full advantage of a universities facilities, events and connections can be of immense benefit. While studying at the University of Southampton, it is important to explore what it has to offer.<\/p>\n<p>Coursework and exams are an imperative element to university. Nonetheless, good grades are not the only aspect of excellent employability. At Southampton, there is a mammoth choice of societies and clubs. Within these, there are positions such as president, secretary and more, which are highly valuable. As well as societies, there are other chances to get involved. Course rep and student ambassador are a great way to build connections, develop skills and have a stand out factor on ones C.V. These roles also help with preparation for the working world.<\/p>\n<p>Some students are still very unsure of their desired career path. To aid their decision making, opportunities like the Student Consultancy Programme is available. This programme allows students to work face to face with employers, getting to the roots of business issues. By working in different areas, one can gain understanding of what roles suit them, and conversely, what ones don\u2019t.<\/p>\n<p>So whatever your interests, be sure to research and enquire about new roles and events.
