As part of this, the University is a signatory to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vitae.ac.uk\/policy\/concordat-to-support-the-career-development-of-researchers\" target=\"_blank\">Concordat to Support the Career Development of Researchers <\/a>(a nationally important document), which details the expectations and responsibilities of researchers, their managers, employers and funders. These <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vitae.ac.uk\/policy\/concordat-to-support-the-career-development-of-researchers\" target=\"_blank\">seven key principles <\/a>\u00a0align with the principles of the European Charter for Researchers and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vitae.ac.uk\/policy\/european-charter-and-code-of-conduct-2005-vitae.pdf\/view\" target=\"_blank\">Code of Conduct for their Recruitment<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>As part of the implementation strategy for the Concordat, each Faculty was asked to submit a Concordat Implementation Plan. The Faculty of Health Sciences\u2019 plan was approved at University level earlier this year and approved by Faculty in June 2014.<\/p>\n<p>Although the original premise of the Concordat was career development for research staff, the Faculty have advocated its adoption to benefit career development for all staff on fixed term contracts, whether predominantly education or research focused.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Within the Faculty of Health Sciences, the Concordat team is:\u00a0 The Concordat Champion is Professor Dan Bader.
