Currently shared with Moving and Handling teaching activity.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Details for accessing labs in Building 45:<\/strong><br \/>\nLaboratory Manager: Martin Warner<br \/>\nExperimental Officer: Simon Brown<\/p>\n<p>All research laboratory booking requests are to be sent to the Experimental Officer, Simon Brown (or Martin Warner in his absence). Bookings must be directed to one of two e-mail addresses; <a href=\"mailto:res45lab@soton.ac.uk\" target=\"_blank\">res45lab@soton.ac.uk<\/a> for the research labs on the ground floor, or <a href=\"mailto:bio45lab@soton.ac.uk\" target=\"_blank\">bio45lab@soton.ac.uk<\/a> for the Biomechanics lab on the third floor. Laboratory timetables can be viewed electronically via the Research Laboratories blackboard page. Staff and postgraduate students who use Microsoft Outlook can view the laboratories\u2019 calendar by searching for the shared calendars \u2018res45lab\u2019 (for the ground floor research labs) or \u2018bio45lab\u2019 (for the Biomechanics lab). These details can be found on the Faculty of Health Sciences\u2019 intranet site.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Southampton General Hospital Laboratories:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Gait\/Movement laboratory<\/strong><br \/>\nLevel E, Centre Block\u00a0CE107- this lab is equipped with Codamotion 3D motion capture system with a single Kistler Force plate. In addition a synapsys eye movement detection system provides 2D eye measurements.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Details for accessing Gait Lab<\/strong><br \/>\nUse of these laboratory resources must be discussed with the Senior Experimental Officer Malcolm Burnett prior to booking. Requests to book the gait laboratory should be sent to <a href=\"mailto:REHAB@soton.ac.uk\">REHAB@soton.ac.uk<\/a>. Staff and postgraduate students who use Microsoft Outlook can view the laboratories\u2019 calendar by searching for the shared calendars \u2018REHAB\u2019. This can be used to check availability and can be used to request bookings by sending an \u2018invite\u2019 to an appointment. These details can be found on the Faculty of Health Sciences\u2019 intranet site.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Level A\u00a0Laboratories<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>AA79 Testing Lab and AA80 Technical Lab<\/strong> &#8211; used to assess the performance of support surfaces (cushions and mattresses) and devices (catheters, prophylactic dressings, barrier products etc.) using a range of physical sensors and biosensors and physical measurements.<\/p>\n<p><strong>AA81 Biological Lab<\/strong> &#8211; used to analyse biochemical concentrations and to conduct cell-based experiments.<\/p>\n<p>We also have an <strong>E<\/strong><strong>nvironmental Controlled Facility<\/strong> in the Welcome Trust CRC<\/p>\n<p><strong>Details for accessing\u00a0Level A\u00a0Laboratories<\/strong><br \/>\nAccess is\u00a0restricted to nominated researchers with key card access.<br \/>\nThe research undertaken in these laboratories is generally under the academic supervision of Dr David Voegeli, Dr Bashir Lwaleed, Dr Peter Worsley, Prof Mandy Fader and Prof Daniel Bader.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Research Laboratory Management Group All\u00a0laboratories\u00a0within the Faculty of Health Sciences\u00a0are overseen by Professor Maria Stokes who leads the Research Laboratory Management Group.
