{"id":551,"date":"2017-06-21T13:43:46","date_gmt":"2017-06-21T13:43:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.soton.ac.uk\/adnet\/?p=551"},"modified":"2017-06-21T13:43:46","modified_gmt":"2017-06-21T13:43:46","slug":"newton-fund-uk-india-industrial-waste-challenge-closes-11-oct-17","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.soton.ac.uk\/adnet\/2017\/06\/21\/newton-fund-uk-india-industrial-waste-challenge-closes-11-oct-17\/","title":{"rendered":"Newton Fund UK-India industrial waste challenge &#8211; closes 11 Oct 17"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Innovate UK and Research Councils, the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC) and the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC), are investing up to \u00a38 million in projects that use cutting-edge solutions to reduce industrial waste in India.<\/p>\n<p>Projects should address reducing industrial waste and pollution, and improve value recovery from waste using biotechnology in one or more of these 5 sectors:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>leather\/tanning\/textiles<\/li>\n<li>municipal solid waste<\/li>\n<li>paper and pulp<\/li>\n<li>sewage<\/li>\n<li>sugar cane<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The total project grant will not exceed \u00a32 million per project for UK partners. Match funding will be made available for Indian project partners by the Government of India.
