Open Exhibition opportunity at Salisbury Arts Centre
Cartoons, Illustrations & Animations
Established and new artists working in cartoons, illustration and animation are invited to apply for this open exhibition opportunity by the deadline of Sunday 26 November 2017.
Regular open exhibitions have long been an important element of the exhibition programme here at Salisbury Arts Centre and this year we decided to explore whether pictures can sometimes speak louder than words by focusing on the highly visual mediums of cartoons, illustrations and animations.
Talking Pictures will showcase a varied range of work by artists who have submitted their work for selection by a panel of professionals. We are delighted to have acclaimed cartoonist Roger Penwill, artist & illustration lecturer Vincent Larkin and artist & animator Matthew Dean on the selection panel for this open exhibition as they are all extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastically supportive of contemporary artists.
Selected entries will be displayed in ‘Talking Pictures’ exhibition in the new year which will run from Saturday 13 January to Saturday 24 February.
Deadline for submissions Sunday 26 November 2017
Successful applicants will be notified by Friday 15 December 2017
Exhibition dates: Saturday 13 January – Saturday 24 February 2018
