Women’s Team

Our women suffered a tough loss against the Cardiff firsts on Wednesday. A flying start had things looking promising but the lack of fitness training became apparent early on and the score was tied at 19-19 by the end of the first quarter. Cardiff’s momentum flourished through quarters 2 and 3 leaving our girls down 36 to 50 at the end of the third. One final push and some aggressive team defense kept Cardiff’s lead down to just 10 points but despite winning the fourth quarter 20-16 it was too late. Final score 56 Sharks – 66 Cardiff.

It’s clear from the early lead that there is a lot of talent and potential for our girls, with a few more training and fitness sessions before their next game I expect we will be seeing better results from here on out!

Men’s 1st

Our Men’s 1st won against Bournemouth 1st, 93 to 50. The score is pretty self-explanatory. With a “slow” start (18 to 15), Southampton quickly picked up the rhythm after that first quarter. With a good defense and some good teamwork, sharks conceded few points to Bournemouth while still keeping their score high.

For their first game in the 1st division, our Men showed that they deserved to be there, they will have to keep up with this good start and be careful because there will be good teams to whom they will have to be focused for.

2nd Quarter: 27 to 12
