Away games:
- Men’s 1st went to Bournemouth University. They had already won their first game against Bournemouth when they came to the Jubilee Sports Hall. The start was complicated and Sharks were having a bit of trouble. However, with a small court, Southampton decided to change their defensive strategy and started to play a zone defence. This enabled them to get the win.
Final Score: 49 (Bournemouth) – 62 (Southampton)
- Women’s team travelled to Cardiff to meet Cardiff University Women’s 1st. The first quarter was close, 9 (Cardiff) – 10 (Southampton). Unfortunately, the women didn’t manage to keep it up and unfortunately lost 61 (Cardiff) – 41 (Southampton)
Saturday 19th November:

The game was therefore tied and Southampton had to try and score more to win the game. Unfortunately, they lost the next two quarters 16 – 13 and 16 – 15 respectively.
The final score was 55 – 51.
It was a low scoring game and Sharks were more than able to take the win, unfortunately, they didn’t manage to score enough points.
Sunday 20th of November:
- Sharks B played in the Intramural League against the undefeated Badgers. This was a hard game for Sharks. The team had trouble in offence and didn’t manage to score many points conceding the first half: 32 (Badgers) – 12 (Sharks). The second quarter went much better. The development team switched to a Zone defence and managed to slow down the Badgers and got some rebounds. Unfortunately, Sharks didn’t score many more points and lost the second half: 15 – 12.
Final Score: 45 – 24
The development team will have to work harder to defeat this very strong team!
