Saturday 22nd of October, National League:
Men’s 1st went to Swindon to play against Swindon Shock. The game was tight and went well until the third quarter.
1st Quarter: 17 (Swindon) – 12 (Sharks)
Only five points separated both teams and it seemed more than possible for Southampton to win the game.
The Second quarter was won 22 – 25 and confirmed a possible victory for the Men’s if they continued on this trajectory.
Unfortunately, the third quarter didn’t go well and Swindon managed to create a big gap. Winning the quarter 23 to 11, there was, therefore, a 14-point lead for the locals. They even managed to get a 20-point lead at some stage of the game. It was hard on the Sharks moral but they kept going and tried to come back to the score. They won the last quarter 14 – 15. The game finished with a score of 76 to 63.

Sunday 23rd of October, Cup game:
Sharks Men’s 1st went to St Marys Sports Centre for this Cup game and met Solent Kestrels II. It was a good game from Southampton University. They kept the game tied up all the time. Losing the three first quarters by 3 points each shows how close the game was.
1st Quarter: 21 (Kestrels) to 18 (Sharks)
2nd Quarter: 23 to 20
3rd Quarter: 27 to 24
With a high scoring game, Sharks managed to get a win in the last quarter but it wasn’t enough to win the game.
4th Quarter: 20 to 23
The game ended 91 to 85 for Solent.
Nevertheless, there has been an evolution and Men’s 1st team has improved, we can expect from them to win us some games!
