Communication Secretary:
What is your name and where are you from?
My name is Christopher Conti; I live in France not far from Geneva.
What is your position in the club? What does that imply? What do you have to do for the club?
As a Communication Secretary, I am in charge of the Facebook page and the Website. I have to advertise games and advertise events. I also answer the questions that the club gets on the Facebook page and the website.
Generally, as a committee member, I have to help the club with tasks and be available to club members to help them.
For how long have you been playing basketball for? What got you started?
I don’t really remember what was the reason for starting basketball. To be honest I tried Football before but didn’t manage to get in the team I wanted to be in so I tried Basketball.
Why do you like/love basketball? What motivates you to go the training sessions?
Basketball is great for its competitiveness. The games were always the most exciting part of the week and the fact of travelling to somewhere and then meeting an “unknown” team, and having a crowd cheering along has always been very exciting.
The fact of being in a team is also great because it means we lose as a team and win as a team, we become close and have nice times together.
What is your favourite NBA team? Who is your favourite basketball player? Why?
I don’t follow NBA.
What was your most memorable moment when playing basketball?
It was a few years ago and we had a bad start to our season in our local league. We had lost all of our games but we met a team at home and it was a terribly tight game. In the last few seconds of the game, we had the possession on the side-line, the score was either 1 point in their favour or was tied. The ball was passed to one of my teammates next to the side-line, then to another at the top of the 3-point line and finally not knowing what to do with it, he passed it to me on the other side not far from the key. I shot it and it went in as the final buzzer went off. It was amazing.
