Autonomous Robotic Systems

Dr Stephen Prior was the UK National Organizer for the Eurobot competition for 7 years (2005-2012). This is a Europe-wide robotics competition involving over 30 countries. Over the years the UK has taken teams to compete in Switzerland (x2), Italy, Russia, France (x4) and Germany (x2). Last year’s World Final was held in Yverdon-les-Bains, Switzerland, 22-24 May 2015.

Since moving to the University of Southampton in the summer of 2012, Southampton teams have now won the UK Final three times. In the 2014 UK Final, Southampton teams took all three top places and in 2015 and 2016, Southampton teams took the first two places, with a team from Birmingham taking the third spot. These three teams represented the UK at the World Final.
