One Response to Zhang & Niu

  1. Kathryn Yount says:

I was struck, and a little confused, by some of the findings with regard to gender differences in psychological well being. Typically, women report more depressive symptoms than do men, and higher levels of physical disability. Women also tend to have different informal social networks than do men. I think the gender differences reported deserve some careful attention and comparison with respect to the existing literature. The authors also need to give some attention to direction of causality — does psychological well-being influence living arrangements?
