Undergraduate students exhibit their research at the Houses of Parliament

On Tuesday 2nd February, two University of Southampton students presented their research at Parliament as part of the British Council for Undergraduate Research (BCUR) ‘Posters in Parliament 2016’ event, along with selected students from 26 other UK Universities, all there to present some of the best undergraduate research in the country to an audience of MPs, Lords, Vice-Chancellors and some of the most influential people in Higher Education. Lasers, Schrödinger’s cat and stargazing: an action-packed day of training for technicians

We welcomed 52 people to the latest HEaTED (Higher Education and Technicians Education Development) South Coast Regional Network event on 18th December. There was much excitement about this festive event as each participant received a goodie bag with sweets! Futurelearn Inspiration Awards: a win for Simon Fogg

Simon Fogg, (bottom left in the image) is an enthusiastic learner on our Web Science and Digital Marketing MOOCs (and many other MOOCs too!) He has won the "Inspiration on Futurelearn" category of the FutureLearn Inspiration Awards that were announced just before Christmas. Simon developed and still manages a GooglePlus community to support these MOOCs which now has 1,355 members. Continue reading →
