Blackboard & VLE Awards 2017

Now into its fifth year, the 2017 Blackboard & VLE Awards competition has seen an increasing number of courses supported by exemplary use and design of their virtual learning environment.  This year’s awards event featured a mix of familiar and new faces: some staff recognised for the consistently high quality of support they provide for students online each year, and others representing modules where new developments in the VLE have helped transform their course delivery. Supporting NTF applicants for submissions in 2016

This HEA Regional Workshop, hosted by the University of Southampton, is to support  candidates applying for HEA National Teaching Fellowships in 2016.  The deadline for submissions is 28 July 2016.  The workshop is being held on Thursday 2 June, 11.00-14.00 in building 34, room 3001, Highfield Campus. In addition, the HEA are launching a new pilot scheme Collaborative Awards for Teaching Excellence (CATE) in order to celebrate team working. Continue reading →

The fourth annual ILIaD Blackboard & VLE Awards event brought together colleagues from across the university who have inspired their students by the quality of their VLE provision. Southampton Agincourt MOOC video shortlisted for award

A video from the University’s MOOC ‘Agincourt 1415: myth and reality’ has been shortlisted for a British Universities Film and Video Council Learning On Screen Award, 2016. The video ‘How to wear plate armour’ was produced by Kate Borthwick and Josef Brett and features a local historian describing and demonstrating how plate armour would have been worn in 1415. It is a finalist in the category ‘Courseware and curriculum in-house production. Continue reading →
