Aline Giordano

She joined the University in 2014 and is currently the Doctoral College Manager within Student and Academic Administration (SAA). A key aspect of her role involves working with colleagues across the University and the Students’ Union to foster a vibrant, engaging and supportive doctoral researcher community. She is also the Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity Champion within SAA. Born in South Korea, she lived and studied in France where she graduated with a Masters in languages. She then moved to Southampton while completing an MPhil in Irish studies, and has been living here for the past 22 years. Before joining the Higher Education sector in 2007, she worked in Information Management in the NHS. Whilst there, she ran a project looking at the acculturation of Asian nurses in a hospital setting. Her findings were used to inform the Trust’s Equality and Diversity Committee about future initiatives to facilitate better cultural integration.
