Huge thanks to everyone who applied for the Helpdesk support team positions.

We’re now in the process of sorting through the applications and making preparations for the first round of informal interviews.

Ultimately, we’re going to have to disappoint a lot of people, which is the worst bit of the job. The number of applications far exceeds the number of people we can take on. Please know that if you applied, we love you deeply whether we’ve got enough room for you or not.

Over the course of the next week, we’ll be taking the covering statements and CVs and marking them against a fixed set of criteria. The criteria include bonus points for specialisms, an assessment of your potential people skills and a measure of how well your CV and covering statements were written. This process then means we will then be able to invite a subset of applicants back for interview.  If that’s you, we’ll let you know. If it’s not, please don’t hate us for it.

Good luck to all of you, if that’s not a crazy thing to say!

PS: Thanks to the couple of people who pointed out that one of our 6s had cheekily changed into a 7 in one place. We decided not to re-spam people about it, as the deadline information was nice and clear in plenty of places, including the authoritative site.
