Here are the discussed topics from today’s eCert monthly meeting.

* Project progress

  • The demo is completed, and is now being documenting;   
  • we can get Notting and Edecel to blog
  • JISC CETIS conference – mid November

* GDP

  • Gary likes “sharepoint”
  • Documenting “Sustainability” of code
  • Get letter from customer

* Mobile ID

  • design to be completed in the next week
  • then will move onto implementation

* Repositories

  • GDP – need to make sure there is a “master”
  • Mobile ID – need to discuss about repositories

* may find out sharepoint in Aeronautics

* Chris’s site visit

* budget, need to wait for the final response on the project extension

* Publishing – Gary volunteering for doing a journal paper

* Project progress

  • The basic functions of the demo are now working, we are going into the system testing, debugging, and improvement stage;   
  • We are going to contact Chris for the possibility of extend the project deadline.

* GDP

  • A project for the use of eCert in ePortfolio will be run from October
  • The selected ePortfolio for investigate will be eFolio and Mahara

* Second eCert workshop

  • The report of the workshop is now available on the project website

Here are the discussed topics from today’s eCert project monthly meeting.

eCert progress:

* late, but under control, will be running overlap in September

 

compare paper:

* eWork use cases are from organisational approach (organisation to organisation)

* Digitary is designed for organisational approach, with issue, manage, and verify all in one organisation.

* eCert use cases are from user centric approach (user to organisation), and the system is designed don’t need to rely on the organization to avoid accessing lots of different systems for eCertificates issued from different organizations; and provide lifetime validation even when the issuing organization is no longer exists.

 

Nottingham workshop:

* presentation (brief – project aim, requirements, system design)

Monthly meeting 21.06.2010

Here are the discussed topics from today’s eCert project monthly meeting.

* We are going to write a paper to compare the difference between the eCert and the Digitary.   It turns up that August will be a good time to get together for this, after we checked our available timetables and the eCert project progress.

* We have contacted Owen from the eWork project, had a brief idea of its system design from the information provided, and Lisha is going to meet him at the London Learning Forum on the 5th July.

* We have prepared the presentation and planed the schedule for the Toronto workshop.

* We are got accepted for the ALT-C national conference at Nottingham in September.  Need to register! – Presenters’ booking deadline 28th June

* We have met Alex from eFolio. 

  • Alex has showed Lisha the development part of the eFolio system, which have no links provided through the interface yet.   It can has the user’s skills and evidence files reviewed/confirmed by a selected member within the institution.   This is very close to eCert where the qualifications and evidence files need to be verified
  • Lisha has showed Alex the design of how eCert can work within the eFolio.  Alex thinks that it could be achieved with a bit of changes, but he can’t do much for now, until the eCert demo has been set up.
     

* Tao, our project assistant, is leaving at the end of June.  We are now in the process of getting a replacement.

* We will have Kieren for the mobile IDs project as well as Oliver.

  • The chosen phone for the mobile ID project: iPhone, HTC design phone, Nokia N900
  • ALT-C conference: need to register
  • Meeting Alex ref eCert in eFolio (Thursday,  10, June)
  • Waiting for reply from Digitary about the paper of difference between eCert and Digitary system
  • Project progress review: on target
  • Lisha and Teresa have register for the JISC Innovation Forum (#JIF10), and in the process of register for the Learning Forum London – need to do it through the ECS finance office

Here are the discussed topics from today’s eCert project monthly meeting.

Discussed:
* Review of the first workshop and its affect: 

  • feedbacks from the workshop
  •  skype meeting with Andy from Digitary
  •  Tao’s draft paper for the differents between the Digitary and the eCert system, we would like to ask Andy as co-author.

* We are through the first round of selections for the ALT-C national conference at Nottingham in September, we are now waiting for the final confirm.  we plan to run our second workshop there.

* We have email from Chris that the eWork project is interested in eCert, Chris will let us know once the connection is formed.

* The eFolio system

  •  is running in the Psychology department in our university
  •  we have contacted the developer, Alex, and has been introduced to the system
  •  further inversgate of how eCert can be used in eFolio will be carried out soon
  •  the education department may also has an ePortfolio system running
     

* The GDP for eCert in ePortfolio

  •  we are going to put in an application for a group of four masters-level students to implement the eCert code within an ePortfolio system
  • we have two choices of the ePortfolio system: “Mahara”, an open source ePortfolio system, or the eFolio, our home-brewed ePortfolio system

* We have been allocated a top quality student as a funded summer intern, to take the eCert code and implement it in a mobile phone-based identity application

* Review of project progress

  •  project is running as planed

  •  Tao may have been located too much work – this needs review
