Welcome!

The Ethics of Everyday Practice Conference was held on the 21st January 2015
at The Royal College of Nursing, 20 Cavendish Square in London.

The ethics of everyday practice

The Centre for Innovation and Leadership in Health Sciences, University of Southampton, extends a very warm welcome to all those interested in this one-day conference. Following a rigorous peer review process, we are delighted to be able to share with you an exciting and uniquely interdisciplinary programme of speakers and events, co-produced with patient leaders and people who use services. All are concerned with the practical, everyday encounters in health and care, and the ways we begin to understand their ethical components. The purpose of the conference is to move from describing and analysing, to researching, connecting and promoting alternative constructions of ethical practice. We will be inviting delegates to join a network following the conference to take forward this work.

After a period open to presenters, registration is now open to all delegates wishing to attend. The early bird rate applies until December 12th 2014. We wish to create comfortable spaces to discuss and share ideas in a welcoming and relaxing venue, so places are limited. Please register early to ensure your place.

People who use services, practitioners, students, policy makers and academics are invited to join us for parallel paper sessions, round table discussions, a forum theatre and panel debates. The opportunity to book specific sessions will be offered to all who have registered by mid December. The purpose of the conference is to explore together, from a variety of perspectives, the ways in which ethical ideas inform, support and challenge everyday practices in health and care.
