The school of Electronics and Computer Science (ECS) at the University of Southampton is fully committed to providing a positive working environment in which our staff and students have the opportunity, and support, to achieve their full potential and career aspirations.

The ECS Athena Swan committee are working hard to continue to improve recruitment and retention to ensure quality and fairness to our students and staff. ECS recognises the importance of encouraging and retaining women at all levels in computer science and electronics roles, which is a predominantly male discipline.

We are lucky to have a number of high profile women working in both support and academic roles paving the way for others to follow.

We are very excited at being awarded a bronze Athena Swan award and are continuing to work on our action plan in order to make sure that ECS is a supportive, friendly place to work.
