Basing House Video: Three Weeks in Two Minutes!

Peter has made this super awesome timelapse video of the summer excavation. Peter is a Masters student studying the Virtual Pasts MSc. He is looking at the use of online technologies for archaeology. Peter has been working on developing online experiences for the Portus Project, another University of Southampton fieldwork project.Β Β The Portus Project will soon have its own MOOC; an online virtual learning environment that will introduce the archaeology of Portus. Paperwork and un-Commonly Hot

This week we’ve been working hard to get everything ready for our dig starting next week. We travelled up to Basing House on Tuesday to meet with all of the staff that work at the site to talk about last minute details. While we were there we walked over to Basingstoke Common to look at the areas that Clare Allen and her team will be surveying over the three weeks. Continue reading →
